# AppRemover

> AppRemover is a Mac (macOS) app uninstaller by IntentCode Co., Ltd. (주식회사 인텐트코드). When you remove an app, it also finds the settings, caches, data containers and launch items (LaunchAgents, LaunchDaemons, PrivilegedHelperTools) the app left behind and moves everything to the Trash together with the app. Korean name: 앱 정리 / 맥 앱 삭제 프로그램.

Key facts:

- Platform: macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Universal app for Apple silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs.
- Distribution: Developer ID signed, Apple-notarized DMG from https://appremover.intentcode.co.kr/download/AppRemover-latest.dmg, or Homebrew: `brew install --cask manoit-DanielJung/tap/appremover`.
- Not on the Mac App Store: the App Store sandbox cannot clean up other apps or /Library system folders.
- Nothing is deleted outright. Items are moved to the Trash and can be restored until the Trash is emptied.
- Only exact bundle ID matches are selected by default; items that only share a developer or a name are shown as "needs review".
- Administrator password is requested only for root-owned apps (App Store or .pkg installs), items in /Library, and disk cache purge. It is entered in the standard macOS authentication dialog; the app never sees or stores it.
- Privacy: no account, analytics, advertising or tracking. All checks run locally. The app does not connect to the internet itself; only the optional ClamAV feature downloads ClamAV and its virus database through Homebrew.
- Required permissions: Full Disk Access and App Management (System Settings › Privacy & Security).

## Features

- Uninstall apps in /Applications, /Applications/Utilities and ~/Applications together with leftovers in Application Support, Caches, Preferences, Containers, Group Containers, Saved Application State, Logs, HTTPStorages, WebKit, Cookies, LaunchAgents, LaunchDaemons and PrivilegedHelperTools. Launch items are stopped with `launchctl bootout` before they are moved.
- Find leftovers of apps that were already deleted, grouped by app.
- Memory overview in Activity Monitor terms (app, wired, compressed, cached, free, swap, memory pressure), top apps by memory including helper processes, normal quit, optional `purge`.
- Launch item and code signature check: distinguishes Apple, App Store, notarized and Developer ID software, flags unsigned or broken signatures and launch items whose program is missing.
- Optional ClamAV malware scan of Downloads, Desktop, Applications, the home folder or any folder; detections can be moved to the Trash.
